Drones targeted a parking lot for Russian military helicopters in Sochi on Oct. 1, andsources indicate that the Ukrainian military’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) was behind the attack, NV’s sister publication Ukrainska Pravda reported on Oct. 1.

Ukrainian drones successfully struck the helicopter pad in Sochi’s Adler district, the report reads.

This incident followed Russian Defense Ministry’s claim on Oct. 1 of “destroying” a drone over Russia’s Krasnodar Krai using anti-aircraft systems. There were also reports of extensive drone attacks on the Russian city of Sochi, resulting in the delayed departure of over 10 flights at the airport.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
