The Ukrainian government has terminated the intergovernmental air service agreement with Iran, Taras Melnychuk, the Cabinet’s permanent parliamentary secretary, announced on Nov. 8.

This agreement had been in effect since July 9, 1993.

“The Agreement on Air Services between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed in Tehran on July 9, 1993, has been terminated,” stated Melnychuk.

On Sept. 9, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry summoned Shahriar Amouzegar, the chargé d'affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ukraine, following reports that Iran might supply ballistic missiles to Russia.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
