Ukraine to start mailing draft notices starting July 18
Starting on July 18, Ukrainian authorities will begin delivering draft notices to eligible citizens by mail, according to a Cabinet resolution from May 16.
The mobilization reform law that took effect on May 18 provides for a 60-day period to allow draft-eligible citizens to update their personal information with military recruitment centers. Afterwards, the centers will begin mailing draft notices to the most current residency addresses of potential recruits.
This means that if a person was not reachable at their residence, they will face responsibility for ignoring a draft notice.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
