Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks on five fronts
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have successfully repelled attacks by Russian invasion forces on the sections of the front at Lymanske, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Shakhtarske, and Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine’s General Staff announced on Oct. 3.
Here are the key points from the Facebook post:
- Ukrainian forces continue defensive operations in eastern and southern Ukraine, with offensive operations in the Melitopol and Bakhmut areas.
- Over the past day, there were 35 combat encounters.
- The occupants launched eight missile and 47 aviation strikes, along with 27 shelling incidents using rocket artillery on Ukrainian positions and residential areas.
- Russia carried out another strike on Ukraine during the night of Oct. 2, using seven Shahed-136/131 attack drones from the southeast. Ukrainian air defenses successfully neutralized four of the enemy drones, but there were casualties among civilians.
- On the Siversk and Slobozhansky fronts, the enemy maintains a military presence in border areas and conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian forces to critical areas.
- There were no significant offensive actions by the Russians on the Kupyansk front.
- Ukrainian forces repelled enemy attacks in the vicinity of Makiivka in Luhansk Oblast on the Lymanske front.
- On the Bakhmut front, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions near Andriyivka in Donetsk Oblast.
- Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled enemy attacks east of Stepove in Donetsk Oblast. The enemy carried out ten futile attacks in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka areas of Donetsk Oblast.
- On the Shakhtarsk front, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled enemy attacks near Staromykhailivka and Rivnopole in Donetsk Oblast.
- On the Zaporizhzhya front, Russian forces unsuccessfully attempted to regain lost positions west of Verbove and southeast of Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhya Oblast.
- On the Kherson front, Ukrainian soldiers are engaged in counter-battery combat, targeting enemy supply depots and inflicting successful hits on the enemy’s rear.
- Over the past day, Ukrainian defense aviation carried out 11 strikes on personnel, equipment, and military hardware concentrations, and one strike on a Russian anti-aircraft missile system.
- Missile troops hit two personnel, equipment, and military hardware concentrations areas, a command post, two electronic warfare stations, and four enemy artillery pieces.
Previously, the General Staff reported that Russian occupants unsuccessfully attacked near Maryinka and Verbove.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost approximately 279,080 occupiers, including 510 in the last day, reported the General Staff.
