Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov unveiled Ukraine’s new, domestically-produced Bohdana 155mm self-propelled howitzer, which has already been tested in battle.

In a Facebook post on Jan. 26, Reznikov showed a photo of the howitzer, and said the ministry has continued to place orders with Ukrainian defense contractors throughout 2022, “facilitating opening new assembly lines at new locations and ramping up production.”

According to the minister, Ukraine will allocate as much resources as possible to procure domestically-produced military uniforms, bullet-prof vests, UAVs, ammunition, and heavy equipment.

“Pictured: Ukrainian 155mm self-propelled howitzer Bohdana,” Reznikov said.

“One such system has already been successfully tested on the battlefield. The Defense Ministry has financed new artillery systems back in spring 2022. Western tanks, when they arrive in several months, will be supported – in every sense of the word – by Ukrainian artillery.”

The minister concluded by teasing a forthcoming reveal of Ukraine’s efforts to develop a long-range combat UAV.
