Ukraine will not recognize Belarusian diplomas and school certificates
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 9 decided to terminate mutual recognition of educational certificates and academic ranks with the nation of Belarus, whose territory Russia used as a springboard for their Feb. 24 invasion of Ukraine.
These include university diplomas and technical and grade school certificates, reported Taras Melnychuk, the government’s representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.
Belarus and Ukraine signed the agreement back in 1998, which created an equivalence between the two national’s academic system, meaning that Belarusian certificates and diplomas could be used for admission to universities and employment, without additional documentation.
The Cabinet of Ministers also terminated an agreement with Belarus on cooperation in the field of science and technology.
