Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 26 of 28 Russian Shahed drones overnight, two injured in Zaporizhzhya
The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 26 of 28 Shahed drones launched by Russia at Ukraine’s Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhya oblasts overnight on March 28, Air Force commander, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported.
The Shahed-136/131 drones were fired from Russia’s Kursk Oblast and from ships in the Black Sea.
Explosions rocked Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, and Kharkiv, as air raid alerts were triggered across several Ukrainian oblasts overnight.
Two people were injured, and buildings sustained damage in Zaporizhzhya in the Russian attack, Zaporizhzhya Regional Military Administration head, Ivan Fedorov, reported.
During the attack, Russia also launched against Ukraine:
● 3 Kh-22 cruise missiles
● Kh-31P anti-radar missile
● S-300 surface-to-air guided missile system
The air defense operation lasted almost four hours as Russia targeted energy and industrial facilities.
The attack drones maneuvered between residential areas in Zaporizhzhya, and falling debris caused fires in the city, Ukraine’s Southern Operational Command spokesperson, Natalia Humeniuk, reported on national TV.
