Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff identifies two areas with most intense fightings
The most intense fightings are now taking place near Pokrovsk and Kurakhove, Russian forces are also active near Lyman, Kramatorsk, and Vremivka, AFU General Staff reported in a briefing on July 26.
Russian troops launched 29 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Kurakhove.
The most intense clashes occurred near Kostyantynivka and Paraskoviivka, where Ukrainian soldiers repelled 22 attacks, with five ongoing engagements.
Battles are also continuing near Krasnohorivka.
Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 12 Russian attacks near Kostyantynivka and Vodyane in the Vremivka direction. Seven of these attacks were stopped, while five engagements are still in progress.
Russian forces conducted 11 attacks near Makiivka, Nevske, and Serebriansky forest areas in the Lyman sector. One clash is still ongoing, with the rest repelled by Ukrainian forces.
Russian aggression caused ten confrontations in the Kramatorsk sector. Seven attacks near Chasiv Yar, New York, and in the Novomarkove direction were repelled. Three clashes continue.
Fighters from the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade managed to break out from the Russian encirclement north of the village of Prohres in Donetsk Oblast on the night of July 25, captured on July 21.
The brigade commander did not issue a retreat order, so the personnel independently fought their way out.
