Ukrainian army repels attacks as Russian troops attempt to advance

Russian forces are concentrating their main efforts in the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, and Maryinka directions, with heavy fighting continuing and 29 clashes occurring within the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military’s General Staff reported on Facebook on July 12.

The enemy is maintaining a military presence in the Siversk and Sloboda sections of the front. During the past 24 hours, they conducted airstrikes in the areas of Volfyne in Sumy Oblast and Veterynarne in Kharkiv Oblast.

Russia also carried out mortar and artillery shelling on more than 20 settlements, including Karpovychi and Mykolaivka in Chernihiv Oblast; Sopych and Romashkove in Sumy Oblast; and Strilecha, Veterynarne, Stroivka, and Sotnytskyi Kozachok in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Kupyansk section of the front, the Ukrainian army maintain a strong defense. The enemy conducted an airstrike in the areas of the settlements Podoly, Kucherivka, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv Oblast. The enemy's artillery and mortar shelling targeted Krasne Pershe, Kamianka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Masiutivka, and Kyslivka in Kharkiv Oblast, as well as Novoselivske in Luhansk Oblast.

On the Lyman section of the front, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Vesele in Donetsk Oblast. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of Biloherivka and Nevske in the Luhansk Oblast. The settlements of Nevske, Biloherivka in Luhansk Oblast, and Rozdolivka, Torske, Verkhniokamianske, and Vesele in Donetsk Oblast were subjected to artillery shelling.

On the Bakhmut section of the front, under intense fire from aviation and artillery, Ukraine successfully repelled enemy attacks in the area of the settlement Hryhorivka and east of Orikhovo-Vasylivka. More than 15 settlements, including Oleksandro-Shultyne, Vasiukivka, Bohdanivka, Khromove, Chasiv Yar, Pivdenne, and Ivanivske in Donetsk Oblast, suffered from enemy artillery shelling.

On the Avdiyivka section of the front, defense forces continue to restrain the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Avdiyivka, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske. The enemy conducted airstrikes near New York and the city of Avdiyivka. At the same time, the occupiers carried out artillery shelling on over 10 settlements, including Avdiyivka, Berdychiv, Severne, and Nevelske in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Maryinka section of the front, despite enemy artillery fire, Ukrainian forces repelled all attacks in the areas of the settlements Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Maryinka. The enemy shelled over 15 settlements, including Kostiantynivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, and Yelyzavetivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Shakhtarsk section of the front, Russia conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Blahodatne. They carried out airstrikes near Odradne, Storozhove, Rivnopillia, and Makarivka. The enemy shelled over 15 settlements, including Vuhledar, Blahodatne, Makarivka, and Prechystivka in Donetsk Oblast.

On the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson sections of the front, Russia is concentrating its main efforts to prevent the further advancement of Ukraine’s soldiers. They conducted airstrikes in the areas of the settlements Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhya Oblast and Zolota Balka and Molodizhne in Kherson Oblast. They carried out artillery shelling on more than 30 settlements, including Huliaipole, Huliaipilske, Zaliznychne, Poltavka, Olhivske in Zaporizhzhya Oblast; Kozatske, Lvove, Inzhenerne, Tokarivka in Kherson Oblast, as well as the city of Kherson, and Dniprovske, Dmytrivka, and Ivanivka in Mykolaiv Oblast.

The Ukrainian military is continuing its offensive operation on the Melitopol and Berdyansk fronts, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery measures, the General Staff said.
