Ukrainian military destroys Chechen security forces unit outside Kyiv
Public broadcaster UA:PBC reports, citing the President's Office, that the Ukrainian military on Feb. 26 destroyed a unit of Chechen security forces led by commander Magomed Tushaev near the town of Hostomel, just outside Kyiv.
Tushaev was in charge of the 141st Motorized Regiment of the Russian Chechen Guard. According to Interfax-Ukraine, the Ukrainian military was able to capture at least one soldier from that unit who confirmed the information, the Defense Ministry reports.
The Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security writes, referring to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, that "the delay in the destruction was caused by the enemy sordidly using civilian infrastructure as a shield."
