New mobilization bill to be submitted to Rada on April 10
Mobilization bill is scheduled to be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada on April 10, Oleksiy Honcharenko, MP and a member of the European Solidarity party, said on Telegram on April 5.
Ukraine is considering a new mobilization bill which, if passed, would introduce calls for service through the conscript's electronic office.
Government has also proposed implementing demobilization after 36 months of continuous service during martial law.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that Ukraine does not require previously estimated 500.000 additional soldiers, and assured that mobilization would be "much softer".
Conscription bill, registered on Jan. 30, has already passed its first reading in Parliament and has been considered by the Defense Committee, which reviewed all 4269 amendments.
It is scheduled for a second reading and potential vote in two weeks. Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on April 3 announced that a new mobilization bill might be submitted for consideration during the next session of parliament, indicating that discussions and preparations are currently underway.
