Ukrainian refugee killed in Germany

A 46-year-old Ukrainian man was likely murdered in Rostock, Germany, Der Spiegel reported on Aug. 12, citing statements from the police and the prosecutor's office.

The man died in a shelter for refugees in Rostock. A security officer found the Ukrainian citizen with severe injuries around noon on Aug. 12.

Paramedics arrived too late to save the man’s life; he was pronounced dead on the scene.

The German police stated that the circumstances of his death suggest murder and provided no further details.
