The special operations forces (SOF) Group A eliminated 13 Russian soldiers during a raid in the North-Slobozhanskyi front sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Oct. 21, sharing video of the combat operation on Telegram.
The Ukrainian soldiers crossed beyond frontline positions and infiltrated Russian-held territory to carry out reconnaissance and attack enemy dugouts and firing points.
“After the raid, the special forces decided to stay overnight in the captured positions and set up ambushes for Russian reinforcements,” the SOF said.
“Thanks to decisive actions and coordinated work between UAV and mortar crews, several more enemy assault groups were destroyed.”
In total, 13 Russian occupiers were confirmed killed.
The North-Slobozhanskyi sector, which covers the border area of Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast, was first mentioned by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June 2025 amid an increase in Russian activity along the border.
In September, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian forces had completely thwarted Russia’s offensive operation in the Sumy Oblast.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
