Ukrainian forces shoot down Russian Su-25 in Donbas

Ukrainian servicemen shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Pokrovsk sector while it was firing at Ukrainian Armed Forces positions, the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troop Grouping reported on Telegram on July 7.

According to the report, the aircraft was taken down by anti-aircraft soldiers of the 110th Marko Bezruchko Separate Mechanized Brigade. The military noted that the plane is now "burning up in the steppes of Ukrainian Donbas."

As of the morning of July 7, the Ukrainian military has shot down a total of 360 Russian aircraft, according to the General Staff.

On June 28, the National Guard also reported shooting down a Su-25 on the Pokrovsk front. At that time, the military used the Igla anti-aircraft missile system to down the warplane.

The Center for Strategic Communications reported on June 28 that since the beginning of 2024, the Ukrainian military has shot down more than 30 Russian warplanes.
