Ukrainian, US space agencies sign joint statement, says envoy
The space agencies of Ukraine and the United States have signed a joint statement that will pave the way to the expansion of cooperation in space exploration, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova wrote on Facebook on April 21.
Markarova said the administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)Bill Nelson and Deputy Chairman of Ukraine’s State Space Agency Volodymyr Mikheiev, who is on visit to Washington as part of the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the meeting of the Ukrainian-American working group on non-proliferation and export control, together with Deputy Economy Minister Ihor Fomenko, had taken another step towards new opportunities for the rocket and space industry of Ukraine.
In addition, according to Markarova, they agreed to expand cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in the spheres of the peaceful use of space, communications and navigation, as well as projects of the International Space Station and other industries.
The agreement was signed at the NASA headquarters in Washington, she added.
