After over 18 months of relentless Russian attacks on their cities, Ukrainians are having some fun with the recent problems Russia is having protecting its own airspace.

They’ve taken to pranking Russian emergency services and, at the same time, gathering intelligence.

An entertaining audio recording of a phone conversation with an MES operator discussing the impact of a strike on a military airfield in Russia’s Pskov Oblast has delighted Ukrainians on social media.

Video of day

— Emergency hotline of the MES department of Russia in Pskov Oblast.

— Hello, good day.

— Good day.

— There are some explosions happening in the city. Could you tell me what's going on there?

— Yes, there, at the airfield, in Kresty, there's an airplane on fire.

— Ah, the airplane got hit? I see. Just one, or several?

— Just one.

— One... Well, I'll try to hit another one as well now. Just adjusting here. Thank you very much for your help. Glory to Ukraine!

At least one Il-76 military transport and several other aircrafts suffered serious damage as a result of the strike on Kresty airfield in the early hours of Aug. 30.
