Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov addressed his counterparts from European Union member states via video link on Nov. 14.

Umerov thanked European partners for their consistent support of Ukraine in the war against the Russian aggression.

“Recently, I visited an air defense control point equipped with systems you have provided,” said Umerov.

“There were 192 marks on the command center hull — representing 192 aerial targets that our soldiers managed to shoot down thanks to your support. We must remember, these could have been 192 destroyed objects — residential buildings, businesses, power substations, railway stations, grain elevators, schools.”

The minister emphasized that the continuation and acceleration of military-technical assistance from partners enable Ukraine to plan and carry out not just defense operations, but also a push to liberate territories under Russian occupation.

“We will fight until we return to the internationally recognized borders of Ukraine,” Umerov concluded.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
