The United States is expanding the program of training Ukrainian soldiers in Europe, U.S. Department of Defense spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick S. Ryder said during a briefing on Dec. 15.
“Combined arms maneuver training is a logical next step in our ongoing training efforts which began in 2014,” said Ryder.
According to him, about 500 Ukrainian soldiers will be trained every month as part of the program, which will begin in January 2023 and will be conducted in Germany by U.S. 7th Army Training Command.
According to AP, the program aims to give the Armed Forces of Ukraine an “advanced level of collective training that enables them to conduct effective combined arms operations and maneuver on the battlefield.”
CNN earlier reported the United States is considering significantly expanding the training program for the Ukrainian military.
