Ukraine can expect to see its first victories in August, and the final victory – when Ukraine has regained control of its borders as of 1991 – could be achieved next year, Ukrainian intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine on July 4.

“Getting control of the borders as of 1991 – this will be the end of this whole adventure that Russia started,” Budanov, who heads Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate, said in the interview.

Asked when this might happen, Budanov said it could happen next year.

He said that by the end of the year Ukraine will be in "a state in which active hostilities are significantly reduced."
