Ukraine’s Armed Forces identify what Russia is targeting in Odesa Oblast
The port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast remains in the crosshairs of enemy strikes, Ukraine’s Operational Command South spokesperson, Natalia Humeniuk, reported on March 12.
"The port infrastructure in Odesa Oblast remains a priority target for enemy strikes, as evidenced by the recent missile attack from the Black Sea during a drone assault on Odesa," she said during a TV interview.
Russians attempted to launch a sudden, atypical strike while drones were flying over the northern part of the Odesa Oblast and no threat from the sea was expected.
"The enemy seeks to reorient air defense systems with this cunning plan," she noted, adding there were no hits.
Russia launched 22 drones against Ukraine on the night of March 12. Ukraine’s air defense forces took down 17 of them.
