Ukrainian drone maker Wild Hornets said it had set a new
record for the remote operating range of its Sting interceptor drone, adding
that the pilot was outside the country while flying the drone over northern
Ukraine.
The company said the pilot was about 2,000 kilometers away
from the drone.
Wild Hornets said the operation used Hornet Vision Ctrl
technology, which it has already begun deploying at scale.
On April 4, the company said a Ukrainian pilot named Roman,
call sign Hulk, from the Bulava unit used a Sting interceptor drone and Hornet
Vision Ctrl technology to shoot down two Shahed drones from 500 kilometers
away.
On March 12, The Wall Street Journal, citing its own
sources, reported that Saudi oil giant Saudi Aramco was in talks with at least
two Ukrainian companies about buying interceptor drones to protect its oil
fields from Iranian attacks.
Those sources said Saudi Aramco representatives were
negotiating with the Ukrainian companies SkyFall and Wild Hornets.
On March 13, Wild Hornets denied reports that it was in
talks with Persian Gulf countries about supplying its drones.
