Witkoff and Kushner still expected in Kyiv — Zelenskyy

Witkoff and Jared Kushner are still expected to visit Kyiv and then Moscow,
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sept. 3.
Zelenskyy made the remarks during his evening video address. He said Ukraine was in near-constant contact with U.S. President Donald Trump’s trusted diplomatic envoys and was preparing for meetings. Preliminary dates have already been set, he said.
“We expect to see representatives of the American president here in Kyiv,” Zelenskyy said.
“We have their confirmation: There will be meetings in Moscow and Kyiv. We expect a meeting in the coming days. This is very important. It is important that America remains active. We are ready to meet with them in Ukraine — at a high level and for substantive discussions.”
Witkoff and Kushner had been expected to visit Ukraine on Independence Day, Aug. 24.
On Aug. 31, Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation with Witkoff and Kushner. He described the call as “detailed and constructive.”
Also on Aug. 31, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met
with his Russian counterpart on the sidelines of a G20 event in the United
States to discuss Trump’s peace plan for Ukraine.
