As President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considered replacing his
longtime chief-of-staff Andriy Yermak with Mykhailo Fedorov in December 2025,
Yermak turned to his trusted
fortune-teller for advice on the matter, Ukrainska Pravda reported on July
24.
The report cited sources in Zelenskyy’s circle and included screenshots of texts between Yermak and “Veronika Feng Shui.” In the messages, Yermak allegedly asked what to do about the president’s idea of appointing Fedorov as head of the presidential office.
According to the messages cited by Ukrainska Pravda, the fortune-teller advised Yermak to hint to Zelenskyy that such an appointment would turn Fedorov into a political competitor to the president. The notion, Veronika suggested, would anger Zelenskyy but ultimately “stick in his head.”
Yermak’s reliance on advice from the astrologer became a matter of public record after his phone records were investigated by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). At a May 12 court hearing, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) said Yermak was involved in appointing several people to senior state posts and discussed those appointments with a contact listed in his phone as “Veronika Feng Shui Office.”
Shortly afterwards, RFE/RL reported that “Veronika Feng Shui”
was a 51‑year‑old Kyiv resident, Veronika
Anikievich, who describes herself as an astrology consultant.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
