Lithuanian basketball fans troll Putin in Ukrainian ultras chant - Video
A video of the Žalgiris Kaunas basketball club’s rally in support of Ukraine during their Euroleague game against the Serbian team Partizan was posted by the Sports Video Telegram channel on April 4.
The fans displayed banners with the flags of Ukraine and Lithuania before the game and sang the legendary chant about Russian dictator Vladimir Putin "Putin - khuylo" (Putin is sh*t).
The phrase, which grew out of a 2014 soccer chant first performed by the ultras of FC Metalist Kharkiv and Shaktar Donetsk at the start of the Russo-Ukrainian war, has spread throughout the region.
Amid the exciting off-field action, Žalgiris emerged victorious with a final score of 70-66.
This is not the first time that the club has supported Ukraine, having regularly organized fundraisers to help Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
