Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska arrived in the UAE for an official visit on Feb. 17.
Zelenskyy said the top priority of his visit is securing the return of more Ukrainians from Russian captivity, along with investments, economic partnerships, and a major humanitarian program.
He previously announced plans to visit the UAE and Saudi Arabia and hold three meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. However, he emphasized that he would not meet with U.S. or Russian representatives.
On Feb. 16, Reuters, citing a U.S. lawmaker and another anonymous source, reported that U.S. and Russian officials would meet in Saudi Arabia in the coming days to begin talks on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
