Zelenskyy announces diplomatic appointments after former FM Klimkin meeting

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is preparing a string of
personnel changes in the diplomatic
corps working in Europe and beyond, he said on Feb. 27.
Zelenskyy made the remarks in his evening video address after meeting with Pavlo Klimkin, who served as Foreign Minister in 2014–2019.
“I have been speaking with our diplomatic team and with people who have solid experience and have proven themselves in defending Ukrainian interests. Specifically, I met with Pavlo Klimkin,” the president said.
He said Ukraine’s interests must be represented at the official level and in communications with communities from countries that “do not yet enjoy freedom or that are under Russian influence.”
Zelenskyy tasked the Foreign Ministry with preparing candidates for a special representative for Belarus and the Belarusian community in Europe, saying a more active policy is needed.
“When Ukraine wastes not a single day and a single opportunity, Ukraine’s interests are truly protected,” he added.
In a comment to NV, Klimkin declined to disclose details of
the conversation with Zelenskyy, calling it “not a public matter.”
