President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a Ukrainian delegation have been invited to the Munich Security Conference, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhii Tykhyi said at a briefing, according to an NV correspondent on Feb. 4.
“Indeed, the president of Ukraine has been invited to the Munich Security Conference together with a delegation. Of course, the delegation will also include Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha,” he said.
Tykhyi said Ukraine would definitely take part in the Munich Security Conference at many different levels. In particular, the Ukrainian delegation will participate in panel discussions and hold bilateral meetings.
The foreign minister said the top priority for discussion at the conference would be peace efforts, as well as strengthening Ukraine’s energy and defense resilience. Another key priority for Kyiv, he said, is increasing pressure on Moscow.
“Ukraine has a vision for how to end this war by increasing pressure on the Russian Federation. That is exactly what will be voiced at the Munich Security Conference, although, of course, there will also be more specific signals from Ukrainian officials there,” he added.
The 62nd Munich Security Conference is scheduled to take place Feb. 13-15.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
