Zelenskyy: Long-range weapons key to Ukraine’s independence

Ukrainian strike drones and missiles can now strike Russian
targets across an area stretching from Yamal
to Western Siberia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Oct. 30.
Zelenskyy called Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities
one of the country’s real guarantees of preserving its independence during the
war and ensuring its security after the war ends.
He said Ukraine plans to expand its long-range strike
capabilities and increase the number of Ukrainian forces units involved in
these operations. The president said he thanked Ukrainian troops for the
accuracy and regular use of long-range weapons against Russian targets.
“Every Russian strike on our cities and communities always
receives a completely justified response from us,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that Ukraine is working to ensure its drones and
missiles can reach even more distant targets in Russia.
The briefing also identified key areas for the further use
of Ukraine’s long-range weapons. Zelenskyy said the units conducting such
operations would be expanded.
He also said he had discussed the development of such
weapons with Ukrainian manufacturers.
On Oct. 29, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the
President of Ukraine, said Ukraine and the free world must respond with real
force to what he called new, deliberate mass killings of Ukrainian civilians by
Russia in streets and residential buildings.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
