Russia well understands Ukraine’s conditions to start peace negotiations – the full recognition of Ukraine’s sovereignty, Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak said on July 3.

He was responding to earlier comments by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who said that Ukraine "must understand (Russia's) conditions, agree to them, sit down at the negotiating table and agree a document."

Podolyak fired back on social media with a list of Ukraine’s conditions for peace talks.

"Ceasefire. Z-troops withdrawal. Returning of kidnapped citizens. Extradition of war criminals. Reparations mechanism. Ukrainian sovereign rights recognition...” Podolyak tweeted.

“The Russian side knows our conditions well. Peskov's boss (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin) may not worry: the time will come for us to record them on paper."

Earlier, Podolyak said that it would be possible to sign a peace treaty with Russia once Ukraine restores its territorial integrity.

The head of the negotiating group with Russia, Ukrainian MP David Arakhamia, in turn said that Ukraine would be able to resume peace talks with Russia when it strengthens its forces thanks to counter-offensives, and when the invaders return to their positions as of Feb. 23.
