Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he shared intelligence with leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan on Russia’s assistance to Iran in the war, in an interview with Israel’s N12 on March 31.
“We are aware that Russia has provided the Iranians with satellite images of U.S. and British bases, as well as critical infrastructure sites in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and the UAE,” the Ukrainian leader said.
Zelenskyy stressed that Moscow is systematically providing intelligence to Tehran, not just in isolated cases.
“In my opinion, Russia directly supports Iran 100%. This is the same model of information exchange as in Ukraine,” the president said.
He also expressed confidence that Russia is interested in a prolonged war in Iran, as it could lead to a reduction in U.S. military aid to Ukraine and a further easing of sanctions against Russia.
On March 23, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine has irrefutable evidence that Russia continues to provide intelligence to Iran.
“Russia is using its own radio-technical and electronic intelligence capabilities, as well as part of the data on interactions from partners in the Middle East,” the head of state said.
On March 26, The Financial Times, citing Western intelligence, reported that Russia is planning to supply drones, food and medicine to Iran to strengthen its military capabilities.
Also on March 26, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed Vladimir Putin in Russian and thanked him for “inspiration” in the war with the United States.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
