Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed senior government and military officials to draft plans for assisting countries in the Middle East with countering Iranian drones, the president said on March 4.

According to him, corresponding options will be developed by the Foreign and Defense ministries, National Security and Defense Council, General Staff, and national intelligence agencies. The overarching priority, Zelenskyy added, is to make sure Ukraine’s own defense is not compromised.

“Our military has the necessary capabilities; Ukrainian experts will work on the ground [in the Middle East], and teams are already arranging that,” Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post.

“We are ready to help save lives, protect civilians, and support real efforts to stabilize the situation and restore, among other things, safe navigation in the region.”

He added that Ukraine is consulting on matter with Europe, the United States, and countries neighboring Iran.

“Yesterday I spoke with the leaders of the UAE and Qatar,” said the president.

“Today there were talks with the leaders of Jordan and Bahrain. There will be further talks with Kuwait and other countries in the region.”

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
