Central Russia refineries stopped after Ukrainian strikes, report says

Nearly all major oil
refineries in central Russia have been forced to halt or cut fuel
production after a series of Ukrainian drone strikes in recent days, Reuters reported
on May 20, citing sources.
“The combined capacity of refineries that have fully or partially halted operations exceeds 83 million metric tons per year, or around 238,000 tons per day,” the news agency said.
“That accounts for around one quarter of Russia's total refining capacity, according to data and sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.”
Russia banned gasoline exports from April through the end of July.
Among the affected facilities are the Kirishi refinery, the
Moscow refinery, and plants in Nizhny Novgorod, Ryazan, and Yaroslavl. Reuters
said the Kirishi refinery, one of Russia’s largest with a capacity of 20
million tons a year, has been fully shut since May 5. Another major plant,
Nizhnegorodnefteorgsintez (NORSI) in Nizhny Novgorod, with a capacity of 17
million tons a year, was hit on May 20.
