Constanta drone blast ultimately caused by Russia’s war, Romania’s Dan says

The naval drone that exploded
June 5 in the Romanian port of Constanța was part of a Ukrainian operation
against Russian forces, Romanian President Nicușor Dan said.
Dan confirmed Ukrainian forces lost control of the USV after it was affected by Russian electronic warfare measures.
He called the drone’s entry onto Romanian sovereign territory “a direct consequence of the war Russia started against Ukraine.” Dan added that Ukrainian authorities provided information that allowed officials to evacuate residents from the area at risk.
Dan said all four military drones that ended up outside the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces self-destructed.
“Besides the drone that self‑destructed in the port of Constanța, a second self‑destructed under the supervision
of the coast guard in open waters off the Constanța coast,
and two more drones exploded about 145 kilometers east of Constanța. None of these drones caused casualties or significant damage.
There is currently no threat to Romanian citizens or national infrastructure,” he wrote.
