Drone strike leaves occupied Sevastopol in blackout

Sevastopol,
the former primary base of Russian Black Sea Fleet in occupied Crimea, was left
entirely without power after a Ukrainian drone attack shortly after midnight
on Aug. 13.
Moscow-appointed occupation "governor" Mikhail Razvozhayev confirmed earlier reports circulating on social media.
"As a result of an enemy attack on our energy infrastructure, the city has been temporarily left without power," Razvozhayev wrote on Russia’s government-sponsored social network Max.
Telegram channel Crimean Wind reported strikes on the Balaklava thermal power plant and said explosions were heard near a mobile gas-turbine power plant and a substation in Sevastopol. Locals later reported power interruptions in the city.
The attack follows a string of similar incidents in
Russian-occupied Crimea. On July 28, drones damaged a substation in
Feodosia. On July 27, Razvozhayev said restrictions on electricity
supply had been imposed in Sevastopol. In the early hours of July 26, a
drone attack on the Tavriysk thermal power plant near Simferopol sparked a
fire; the occupying energy company Krymenergo said parts of the peninsula were
left without power due to "external impact on power facilities," and
reported "a complicated situation" in the northwest, east and south
of the peninsula.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
