An explosion was heard in Odesa, according to reports from local Telegram channels on April 23.

Russian forces launched a massive overnight drone assault on Ukraine early Tuesday, using 134 strike drones and decoy aircraft in what officials described as one of the largest such attacks in recent months.

Ukraine’s air defense systems shot down 67 Shahed drones and other UAVs across the country, including in the eastern, northern, southern, and central oblasts, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.

Officials said another 47 decoy drones, believed to be used to confuse air defense systems, crashed or failed to reach targets and caused no reported damage.

The wave of drone attacks comes as Russia appears to be testing Ukrainian air defenses with increasingly complex and large-scale operations.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
