A fire killed five people, including four children, in a private home in Pisochyn, Kharkiv District, Kharkiv Oblast, the State Emergency Service reported on Nov. 14.

The fire, which spread over 150 square meters, resulted in the deaths of five people, including four children, and left another child injured.

Rescuers, working alongside the local fire brigade, found the bodies during firefighting efforts and also saved a cat from the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. In October, a forest fire in Kharkiv Oblast destroyed over 1,000 homes and an entire village, spreading from Donetsk's Rubtsi village to the Boriv Forestry.

Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.

For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
