Russian forces shot dead four Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Veterynarne in Kharkiv Oblast, the monitoring project DeepState reported on Apr. 11.
“Russian troops entered the positions through neighboring units. Unfortunately, after capturing four servicemen from one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces mechanized brigades, they were shot by Russian troops,” the analysts wrote.
Earlier, the DeepState project reported that near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, despite the declared ceasefire, Russian forces killed a Ukrainian evacuation group using FPV drones.
On March 3, Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets said that as of the end of 2025, there were confirmed cases of 337 Ukrainian prisoners of war executed by Russian forces.
In April 2025, it was reported that the U.N. Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine had documented 91 extrajudicial executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war since August 2024.
Later, Ukraine’s military intelligence said it had recorded more than 150 cases of executions of Ukrainian servicemen captured by Russian forces.
In July 2025, the Prosecutor General’s Office said prosecutors had documented the killings of 273 Ukrainian prisoners of war by Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
