Kremlin plans illegal land grants in occupied Kherson Oblast

Moscow is preparing to grant land to Russian troops and
their families in parts of Ukraine’s Kherson
Oblast under occupation, Novaya Gazeta Europe reported on April 10.
According to a Kremlin document reviewed by the journalists, the proposal would allow participants in the war against Ukraine and members of security services to receive parcels of land for free. Families of those killed in the war would also be eligible.
Parcels would be issued once, either as ownership or as a lease, and could be used for building housing or agriculture.
To claim land, enemy soldiers would need to be registered as
residents of Kherson Oblast, and parcels would be allocated through a waiting
list, the report said. The document will soon be sent to the Russian parliament
for approval.
