Kremlin says Putin has made no decision on Easter ceasefire

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has made no decision on an
Easter ceasefire, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on April 9, according to
Russian propaganda outlets.
Peskov gave no details when asked about Ukraine’s readiness
for a temporary Easter ceasefire, which Orthodox Christians will celebrate this
year on April 12.
He also cynically claimed that Russia “poses no threat to
any state” that does not plan to destroy the Russian-speaking population or
undermine Russia’s security. Peskov dismissed French concerns about Russian
aggression and falsely claimed that Moscow wants “mutually beneficial
relations” with European countries that, he said, “are not making contact.”
On March 30, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine was
ready for an Easter ceasefire.
A day later, Peskov said Russia had “not seen a clearly
formulated initiative” on a ceasefire, effectively rejecting Ukraine’s
proposal.
On April 6, Zelenskyy said Ukraine was ready to stop strikes
on Russian energy facilities if Russia halted attacks on Ukraine’s energy
infrastructure.
