Kyiv resident Olha, whose apartment caught fire during the Russian attack shared details of the incident, the BBC reported on July 8.

A woman was able to save her cat amid the shelling, though the footage shows the animal visibly scared.

“She is more stressed than I am. She is shaking all over. Look what is happening to her… She is stressed, she is ‘hacking’ like a dog,” the woman said.

She has not yet returned to her apartment after the shelling. Rescuers are still working at the scene.

“I came out and was unharmed. I am looking to see what will happen with this fire (which is ongoing),” she said. “You see, the fire has spread further.”

Earlier, Kyiv local authorities reported that a dispensary in Podil was destroyed during the Russian combined strike on July 10. A dormitory was also hit, killing a 22-year-old policewoman and a 68-year-old woman. The effects of the shelling were recorded in the Holosiivskyi, Darnytskyi, Solomyanskyi, Desnyanskyi, and Obolonskyi districts of the capital.

Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said 16 people were injured. Due to numerous fires, air quality in the city has deteriorated.

In total, the Russian military fired 18 missiles and 397 drones at Ukraine overnight. Ukraine’s air defense shot down all eight ballistic missiles, six Kh-101 cruise missiles, and 164 UAVs. Another 204 targets were lost locally, the Air Force reported.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
