Kyiv continues to find recently manufactured Western-made
components in Russian drones, Ukrainian presidential adviser on sanctions
policy, Vladyslav Vlasiuk, said on May 1.
Vlasiuk told Ukrinform news agency that despite sanctions, Kyiv’s analysts recovered fresh components made in 2025 from Germany, Japan, Switzerland, the United States, Taiwan, and the UK in drones that attacked Ukraine last week.
He said Russia has not reduced the intensity of strikes on Ukrainian cities, naming Odesa, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, and Kharkiv as primary targets.
“Notably, in the drones that attacked Ukraine last week we again found new, 2025-model components made in Germany, Japan, Switzerland, the United States, Taiwan and the UK,” Vlasiuk said.
Vlasiuk said Ukraine has shared all information about the components with international partners. He noted the continued discovery of parts from the Swiss firm STMielectronics despite calls for stricter export controls, and warned that Russia retains access to Western technologies despite sanctions.
“At the same time, there is a result; in the newest drone samples we see almost no components from the Netherlands,” he added.
“That is direct proof that systematic work with partners is
effective and helps cut off access to critical technologies.”
