Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on a DTEK mine in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, killing one employee, the company said on Aug. 17.
Another employee was injured.
The attack significantly damaged the company’s infrastructure, DTEK said.
The Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration added that Russian forces struck an industrial facility in the Bohdanivka community of the Pavlohrad district. A 52-year-old man was killed and a 47-year-old man was injured.
Overnight into Aug. 17, starting at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 128 Shahed attack drones, including jet-powered variants, as well as Gerbera drones and Parodiya decoy drones launched from Kursk, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia and Russian-occupied Donetsk, the Air Force said.
As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 106 Shahed, Gerbera and other types of Russian drones in the north, south and east of the country.
Russian drones struck 14 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at two locations.
