Russian strike kills rail worker in Konotop

Russian forces struck a railway depot in the city of Konotop in Sumy Oblast with Shahed drones, killing a Ukrzaliznytsia employee, the company's chief executive, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, said on June 11.
According to Pertsovskyi, not all railway workers managed to reach shelters in time.
"We suffered a brutal enemy strike on Konotop, targeting the railway depot. Preliminary reports indicate the use of jet-powered Shahed drones. Given the city's proximity to the border, not everyone had enough time to get to shelter after the warning. We are now analyzing the sequence of events second by second," Pertsovskyi said.
One person was killed in the attack, while four railway workers were injured.
The company added that regional and suburban train services in Sumy Oblast continue to operate.
On the morning of June 11, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Konotop in Sumy Oblast, with explosions reported across the city. Mayor Artem Semenikhin said the strikes caused damage and power outages, as well as disruptions to the city's gas supply network.
According to the mayor's latest update, one person was killed and four others sustained severe burns.
On June 10, Russia struck the railway station area in Sumy. Debris from a drone fell onto passenger train No. 143 operating on the Sumy-Rakhiv route, setting the roof of the last carriage on fire.
