Mobile post office to replace destroyed Nova Poshta branch in Izmail
Russian attack destroyed a depot and branches of Nova Poshta using Shahed drones in Izmail, Odesa Oblast, officials reported on Facebook on May 30.
Nova Poshta confirmed that none of its employees were injured following a drone attack that destroyed their branch in Izmail, Odesa Oblast. The fire caused by the strike has been fully extinguished. Nearby trucks were also damaged in the incident.
The company is reaching out to customers whose parcels were lost in the attack to arrange compensation. To maintain services, Nova Poshta is working on establishing a mobile branch so local residents can continue sending and receiving essential items.
According to the State Emergency Service of Odesa, rescuers and National Guard personnel quickly contained the fire, which burned about 300 square meters.
The attack took place during a large-scale Russian strike on Ukraine on the night of May 30, involving 90 Shahed drones, simulator drones, and two ballistic missiles. The strikes targeted Kharkiv, Odesa, and Donetsk oblasts. Ukrainian air defenses successfully neutralized 56 drones — 26 were shot down by fire, while 30 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare. The Air Force confirmed enemy attacks in 12 locations.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
