Russian forces advanced in the village of Hryshyne and near
the settlement of Kotlyne in Ukraine’s Donetsk
Oblast, DeepState OSINT (open-source intelligence) project reported on April
7.
The new advances are now reflected on DeepState’s map of the
battlefield.
Ukraine’s 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Air Assault Forces said small-arms fighting is continuing in Hryshyne, particularly in its southeastern sector.
“The enemy is unsuccessfully shifting additional assault groups to press Hryshyne, including using motorized vehicles,” the corps’ press service said.
The corps added that Ukrainian units have forced Russian troops to slow their advance, prompting the Russians to concentrate activity toward Hryshyne and nearby Rodynske.
On March 31, the 7th Corps said Russian forces could not make gains in Hryshyne and were experiencing shortages of food and water. The corps said Ukrainian forces were striking enemy targets on approaches to the settlement.
Preliminary reports indicate Ukrainian defenders killed a
company-level Russian officer in the Hryshyne area, causing disarray in Russian
units and degrading their combat effectiveness.
