Russian forces struck a Tavria V supermarket in Odesa Oblast with a jet-powered Shahed drone, injuring three people, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Oct. 15.
The store was partially destroyed, and several vehicles were damaged.
“It is important that our partners help us defend against these attacks. Residential buildings, stores, energy facilities and other critical infrastructure are under attack almost constantly. Not a single hour of peace,” the president said.
According to Zelenskyy, the Russian attacks are “a clear demonstration of Russia's response to signals it is receiving from America” about the possibility of further sanctions relief.
“These sanctions were imposed by the world, by America, Europe and our partners. Sanctions for aggression against Ukraine, for the war against us. Nothing has changed. The war has not stopped. The sanctions must not be lifted. Russia must end the slaughter it started and has continued for 1,695 days. Giving it more money to kill people will not help. Strength is needed, and America is stronger than Russian terror,” the Ukrainian leader stressed.
In Odesa Oblast, Russian attacks overnight on Oct. 15 damaged two multistory residential buildings, the premises of a private business and an office building belonging to a commercial bank.
The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
Just as an army needs soldiers, so does a free society need its journalists to ensure that people have access to honest, trustworthy voices to understand the world around them.
For the past five years, The New Voice of Ukraine has been working tirelessly to push back against Russian narratives and defend democracy. But we cannot do it alone.
