Russian strike hits energy facilities in Odesa Oblast

Russian forces struck energy facilities in Odesa Oblast overnight with no casualties reported, the regional administration’s press service said on Feb. 22.
Drone strikes sparked large-scale fires that were extinguished by emergency crews.
An assessment of damage to energy facilities is ongoing, along with efforts to deal with the aftermath of the attack, said Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
No information on fatalities or injuries was immediately available.
An air raid alert in Odesa district was issued at 2:22 a.m. because of drones heading toward Chornomorsk and was lifted at 2:40 a.m.
Later, at 3:58 a.m., the Air Force warned of a potential ballistic missile threat from the north. An air raid alert was declared across Odesa Oblast at 4:13 a.m.
Overnight into Feb. 22, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine using Shahed drones and ballistic missiles.
In Kyiv, people were injured in the Russian attack. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said the wounded were a woman and a child. Preliminary reports indicate debris fell in a residential area.
Explosions were also heard in Kropyvnytskyi, Poltava, Mykolaiv and in parts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
