Russia launches series of strikes on Odesa Oblast highway, injuring five and damaging vehicles

Russian forces carried out a series of strikes on a highway in Odesa Oblast, damaging trucks and cars and injuring five people, regional governor Oleh Kiper said on Oct. 6.

Two of the injured were hospitalized, one of them in extremely critical condition, Kiper said.

At noon, Ukraine’s Air Force reported jet-powered drones heading toward Odesa Oblast, including in the direction of Pivdenne.

On Oct. 5, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on Odesa Oblast, striking industrial and port infrastructure as well as residential areas. Large fires broke out across Oblast.

Because of heavy smoke, radiation, chemical and biological protection specialists from the State Emergency Service in Odesa inspected the area. The regional military administration said measurements detected no hazardous substances.

On Oct. 6, Russia attacked a Marshall Islands-flagged commercial vessel carrying rapeseed oil in the Black Sea with a drone. The strike sparked a fire in the ship’s superstructure, killing one person and injuring seven others.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
