Russia launches 151 drones at Ukraine, air defense destroys 70 UAVs
Russia launched 151 Shahed drones and other simulators at Ukraine overnight, with air defenses downing 70 and 74 failing to reach targets, the Ukrainian Air Force reported on Feb. 9.
Russia launched drones from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
As of 9 a.m., Ukrainian forces had shot down 70 Shahed drones and other UAVs over Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa oblasts.
The attack impacted Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, and Volyn oblasts.
It was repelled by Ukrainian aviation, air defense missile units, electronic warfare teams, and mobile fire groups.
