Ukraine will boost production of interceptor drones and long‑range strike drones to counter Russian Shahed UAV attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an evening address on June 30.

“Regarding drones, there will be more of our own production,” said the president.

“Today we discussed orders, contracts and the full scope of our production capabilities. I will speak with our partners about new investments in Ukraine, in our weapons. Our priority is drones: interceptor drones and drones for long‑range strikes.”

Zelenskyy also thanked all Ukrainian drone manufacturers, developers, and everyone looking for effective counters to Russia’s surging Shahed production and use.

“Russia is investing in unmanned systems and plans to increase the number of drones used against our state,” he added.

On March 29, former Strategic Industries Minister Oleksandr Kamyshin, currently advising Zelenskyy, said Ukraine could produce up to 5 million FPV (first-person view) drones per year. He noted that more than 150 Ukrainian manufacturers can produce 100,000 drones monthly.

The military war may be swinging in our favor, but the information war continues.
